Went out to Kelleys Island on Lake Erie last night with a friend. Others who have shot here always have trouble with the local rich folk on the island harassing them and shooting bottle rockets and slingshots at them etc. We shot a lot of fish and some big fish and about 12:30 am some idiot started yelling at us from shore. We ignored him and kept fishing next thing you know him and his girlfriend come paddling out to us on kayaks and kept telling us to get off their beach. I explained the law to him regarding bowfishing and navigable waters etc and he wouldn't have any of it. I told him if he didn't go away I was going to do circles in front of his house all night. That is when he threatened to shoot me if I didn't leave. Well little did he know that I am a police officer who always caries his badge and gun everywhere he goes. Needless to say he ended up in the slammer for the night. You should have seen the look on his stupid face when I identified myself. Attached are photos of the two big fish we shot.
Shot a couple big ones last night and got an ANTI arrested - GOOD NIGHT!

Awesome story. There appears to be more and more trouble brewing between us bowfishermen and anti's. These people that live on the lakes never cease to amaze me at how they think they have some sort of legal power to harass. We were shot at in the past and pellets actually hit my customers legs. Contacted the marine police and filed a report. Nothing ever came of it. GOOD THING MY CUSTOMERS WERE ON BOARD or this would have been ugly.

LOL Nice fish and great story. The guy was probably showing off for his girlfriend and is probably used to getting away with that sort of thing until that night. I'm sure it was a huge wake up call to him.Good for you man.
