Oh and I've been with the most beautiful girl in the world for the last year and a half so my research must have payed there
lmao, what does that have to do with anything.

There is a lot to learn by just sitting back and watching, let the guys that own boats and have experience with airboat do the talking. Research is nothing compared to experience, i've been in both situations.

read the whole thread smart guy, it was a response to a personal attack

I do know 1 thing....Ive run a 70 chevelle outlaw car for about 10 years.....have run everything from a 427 BBC to a now 632" Dart Big M BBC.......and.................absolutley....there is no replacement for displacement.......as I have had my butt wiped on the track with bigger motors....no matter how much NOS I pumped into her......so.....I have no problem with the big block theory......however....weight to power ratio's must be kept adequate in order to run dry ground with a boat this big........so the question would be.....is there an all aluminum fuel injected BBC out there that is light enough to kepp the ratio's right......and have some warranty to boot???/ And if so.....who builds them??? And also......since money seems to be no object with this boat as it is in the 60's already.......seems like I could go with bigger cubes for not a lot more money???

That was in response to what he said he said something like "i bet you did all the research in the world on girls too and it didnt get you anywhere" or something close to that anyways. Look, im not here to vicker with ppl back and forth on who knows what and this and that. I agree 100% that experience cant be bought, and can only be learned. But at the same time, when i get ready to do something and or buy something, i get on the phone and call people who have experience and try to learn what i can. I dont just take a shot in the dark, and believe me you can learn alot by picking up the phone or getting on the computer and scanning for stuff. Most of the time when im talking to these guys, they even make the comment, "man, youve done your research huh?". There is alot to be gained from it, and i dont think anyone would argue that fact. I just dont understand why caleb has to go out of his way to take a shot at me or anyone else. He wants to say that im in diapers, well that seems a little immature. And to bash a boat company that other people (who have dealt with) have nothing but good things to say about isnt right either. I just wish we could drop all the BS and Bashing, if you dont like someone then fine, but i learned my lesson and im not going to tell them that and go after them.

Dart makes an all aluminum Big M block, they have it in a 4.250,4.500, and 4.600 bores. I think the cam shaft would have to be raised above 4.00 though, which can be done. It weighs around 130lbs-160 lbs depending on the Bore. And they run around 5 grand. Greg at Hekimian racing builds them all the time, you might give him a call.

Why would you have to raise the cam?

Off topic but what did that 632 chevelle run?

7.57 @182mph......tulsa raceway park......14:1 roller 632...with hogan manifold, sonny's crank, aluminum rods, JE pistons, Dart Pro CNC 370cc heads...roller cam in the .830s/.830s..ish.......twin 500hp foggers........on 10.5Ws.......Larry Moore glide with 4800 stall converter.....car weighs 2730 less driver......with a NHRA 25.2 cert chassis to 6.00 and 200mph.........motor made 1190hp on motor...no NOS......car ran 7.57 on a single stage 300 shot of NOS......

On the airboat motor.....Im still thinkin the LS7 750hp motor.....Im not gonna be doing a whole lot of dry ground running.....I like the LS7 motor....keeping weight ratio's down....and the fuel economy.....if there is such a thing........Faron has a 20x8 with the 416" sbc and he said his boat would run 70mph......granted im not a speed demon on water......but I think the FI 427 will be just fine on this boat.......BBCs get very expensive in an airboat as Im finding out.......

WOW-TWIN 500 HP FOGGERS YIKES!!!!! If that ls7 is 17,000 I know for a fact you could build a awesome big chief big block for that kind of dough and have better reilability. I am not a airboat owner but would think the big block would perform better. You are the one writing the check so hats off to whatever you do and I can't wait to see some pics.

With a 20 by 9 ft boat you are going to have plenty of water displacement to hold the extra weight. Trust me a boat that big will not be affected by the extra weight of a big block. In fact, gibbys old 18x8 red river had a 383 in it, and with 3 big guys on the front it was too front heavy and hard to keep strait while fishing. Also, IMO the extra weight of a big block helps the boat "turn" better and respond easier while on plane!

Air Rangers are some ground running boats anyways! Our southern draw boat was a 19x8 with a pleasurecraft 496 in it. Only 425 hp. We had 8 people in that slug and it still ran dry ground no problem. With 2-3 you could go anywhere! Well except the lillypad infested backwaters at anahuac! (huh full blown and hoopty) You are going to gain so much more than you will lose by going with the big block...trust me! Good luck with whatever you decide bud!
