Tonight in the stand about 720 I was getting down for the Long walk back to the truck. I put my pack on and lay my bow across the seat and decide I'd take one last look since it was getting dark hoping to see one coming in after logging about 8 hours of stand time opening day. To my suprize I look at the same spot a doe came out 20 min prior and I saw something that didn't sit well. I had my pack on but my range finder was around my neck. I look through it and there it was. A damn mountain lion! I ranged it at 97 yards. I quickly get my binos out to make sure I was just seeing things. I damn sure wasn't! This cat followed this does trail from 20 min prior. I about chit myself and quickly climbed down for the long track back to the truck. I parked about a 1/4 away with my bow and pocket knife in tow. I haven't moved 275 pounds that fast in a long time! Needless to say, there was now way to see if the cat changed course for my trail since the crops are still up. I wasn't gonna wait and see! I have heard a lot of folks say they have seen them here in Arkansas. But I wasn't in the monitions so I was shocked to say the least. So
here's to you AFGC I know what I saw and know they are here even though you say they are not! The inside of my britches is all the proof I need! I will not be without a pistol again!

Never had that happen before but two years ago before openin day of gun season some one shot a doe and it was dragged off by a lion or jaguart or somethin not even a mile from the bow stand I was huntin I was parinoid the whole time

Lmao! I just scouted this new spot! Hog sign rubs and scrapes everywhere. Now I know why it's there lol. It's for sure going to be spooky walking in before and after dark!!! But, well, I better not say..........
I dont do spooky things in the dark, call me what you will. Thats why i got a bright flashlight an a big handgun :shh:

our game and fish lied to us for years "there are no cats in the black hill" then all of a sudden bam we have a cat season now they say there are only about 200 cats in the hills the qouta is 45 cats (or 30 females) they meet this every year personally I would think killing 1/4 of a population would be difficult that or there is a heck of a lot more than 200 cats and the quality of the deer and elk hunting shows it , I guess the options would be

If they are allowing the take of 30 females I would wager there is a heck of a lot more than 200....further more I know for fact there is no state that truly knows just how many lions they have, and the states that do have the best "idea",allow the hunting of them!!I can tell ya Calif has more than any state going but they claim "oh,they are threatened",damn right they are, cause there still is a few ole boys left with a lick of sense!!

well, if there arent any here, there wont be when I see it again. I know what they are going to say. "THERE ARE NO CATS IN THE STATE" and my response will be........"SO I CAN SHOOT ITS ASS WHEN I SEE IT AGAIN!" I know that is exactly how it is going to go. They response will be "NO" you cannot...............

A couple of years ago by my house there was a big lion hit by a truck. I called fish and game and they told me to call pd. So I did and pd told me to call fish and game. When I told him I did already he said well there's nothing else we can do here and Hung up. About a month later a buddy and me were walking up the river right next to where it was hit cause we though it was dead and met up with it face to face. I bout chit my pants but it ran and then we ran the opposite way. Then it ate my nieghbors chiwawa. Nothing has been done still.

I highly doubt you will ever see it again, we also have tons of cats and not very often do u see one unless u run dogs! They are very smart and aware of there surroundings, if you have a handful of cats u will most likely never see another.
