WOW! Really had no idea what was all going on until now, thanks for the info. I wont pay to read an online mag. No matter who its from. An online mag is a real fancy blog in my opinion. I can haunt BFC and get tons of info, stories and more. There are FREE e-news letters/online mags/blogs, what ever you want to call them about bowfishing. Heck, I have started a blog myself and its more like a informational blog for bowfishing, its not really about me or my team and its free for anyone who cares to read it. I will say this, my business partner never got his subscription, not one mag at all. I also gave away two free subscriptions to the bowfisher mag in one of our tournaments this past season and the guys never received their mags, I feel guilty about that. So there is 3 more people to add the list. That is the reseaon the Bowfisher Mag is on my web site under sponsors from last season, our site is under construction things will be updated:wave:

What about the guys so never bought a subscription but only read one copy in their buddies bathroom because they only got one copy. Question...did people have to pay for advertisement in their magazine? Like if i remember right there were some guides that had adds in there...were those adds free?
Every addvertisment you ever saw in the mag was paid for and it wasnt cheap, I looked into it a year or so ago and chose not to.

I guess I was one of the lucky ones. As soon as they sent an email about changing to a digital format started emailing, pming and calling. After a couple of weeks I finally got Penny on the phone. I asked for a refund an she first said I could not have one. I reminded her that I had just renewed for 3yrs and they changed there product after my renewal. I told her then it big mistake to go digital for her target audience. About a month later I got about half of what I paid put in my PayPal account. Got some money back but not happy.
You are 100% right on this. Most of us like to "touch" our mags and take them to the crapper or keep them in the truck or what ever. The internet is full of info about bowfishing. Most of everything you would ever need to know about bowfishing you can find right here on BFC and its free to read all you have to do is sign up. I like a paper mag, I really enjoyed reading the BF Mag when I would buy it from Barnes & Noble and then it just disappeared from the shelves.

Here's my unsolicited take on things for anyone interested:
I subscribed and got 2 issues before the switch to digital. I enjoyed reading the mag but wasn't interested in the digital version. I did not ask for a refund because I figured it would be a waste of my time. I never hold it against a person for trying something and failing since afterall not every business is successful. I do wish however that instead of trying to lay the blame elsewhere they had came straight out and said hey we tried our best but it just didn't work out. I could have lived with that.

I think the BAA thing came at the right time for them, cause it was going down hill and they could push the blame off on the BAA.. I dont even look at the Ejournal cause its on-line...I loved taking a big chit and reading something, its hard to take the puter \and flip pages while pushing out a turd..

Bahahahaha! Get an IPad. I take it to the crapper all the time. Where do you think I'm at now?!?!

I disagree Hoopty. I know for a FACT that they had the opportunity to go national on news stands. They made a conscious choice to not go forward with it.

Another FYI... I paid for adds and they werent cheap. It would, however , been a good investment if there were thousands of mags sitting on newsstands .

I paid for adds too, never got a call for a guide..Well I got one but it was not real...

My take on this is... I liked the magazine alot, an yes ther r hard times ect.. I'm not mad bout em gettin my money bc chit happens. And they prolly need the money more than me if they can sleep at nite. That bein said my problem comes in with them talkin bout lawsuits with this site and the BAA. Wtf, they r a drop in the bucket compared to either 1. Just young guns comin in trying to take control, run the board and make a corrupt dollar IMO

I'm in the same boat. I bought two subscriptions; one for me and one as a gift for a friend that helped get me involved in bowfishing. We both received two issues and then it stopped and went to sh*t or "digital" as they called it. I too can relate to hard times, however honesty is an important attribute to ones' character. Don't continue to take people's money and not deliver the goods. I didn't pay to subscribe to a digital computerized blog. I paid for a magazine to be mailed to my house and that of a friend. Had they just been truthful about everything, I might feel differently. If you have the money to hire a lawyer and threaten legal action against multiple parties over unverified copyright infringements, then you should first and foremost make things right by offering refunds to those who have paid for unfulfilled subscriptions. As was already stated by Jeff, The Bowfisher Magazine does have everyone's names and addresses that paid either by phone or PayPal. There is no need to be forced into joining another forum just to apply for a refund and maintain some form of contact. That is poor business practice and a serious flaw in character. I take serious offense to both. With that being said, I don't expect to see any refunds coming my way any time soon by way of their organization.

This is what bothers me most about the whole situation as well Walter. I know the little bit of nonsense I was dong for the mag wasnt all that big a deal but I hadnt heard from Dan or Penny at all after the first couple of articles. I found out about going digital on here, never a word from them about it. Promises made and not honored. Randy even won a bow from one of their promotions and never received it. I had two subscriptions, bought one for a family member, neither of us interested in a digital version. I kinda figured the return of any money just wasnt worth my time. The last year and a half I've lost more money thru bowfishing related "deals" than I want to think about, a testament to my naivete I reckon and this one will just be added to the ones I try to forget about. Sad part is I truly enjoyed the magazine, hate to see it go. As far as bad grammar....it was part of what I liked about the mag. Written as ******** speak it for the most part. I feel bad for you guys that are so upset because I was one of em that was really pushing this thing in the beginning. The very first words I heard about their altercation with the BAA I thought to myself "Well, they just chit in their breakfast cereal" and it seems that proved to be true. I cant keep myself from wondering if the reason I quit hearing from them is because I wouldnt sign away the rights to our articles and/or pictures. I gave em my word, and stuck to it, that what I sent them would go to no one else, but anything they didnt use I wanted to use as I saw fit. All I expected was the same courtesy as to the promises that were made to us. All that being said......so what. I've got a lot bigger problems to deal with, lots of fun planned for this season that all this will in no way sour for me. Much of this ill will could have been taken care of so easily and that's what I have the hardest time understanding. Ya hit it on the head in my opinion OBG!

Why did they threaten legal action???
they said the baa copied there magizine, when we have been putting out a journal since 1990.who do you think the bowfisher magizine was getting there articles from-baa members.and they said we copied them, lets be real about this.bowfisher magizine comes in,plays buddy buddy with the baa, gets on there membership package list, then stabs us in our back threating lawsuit.i talked to penny an dan quite a bit about this trying to work this out and they wouldnt budge.i even had to get with a laywer to make sure we were protected from what was coming out of pennys mouth.pretty bad deal for them, because baa was willing to work with them and they wasnt.
