even the bullet rest would knock the vanes loose don,t know how a larger diam. one would work haven,t tried that.

think a flipper rest will handle a fishing arrow?
if its the type I am thinking of back in the day thats all we had....hell yea it worked

edit...the flipper isnt stout enough....the one we used was similar but had a thicker plastic tab the arrow laid on

i may try it.

i come from a trad bow background and miss being able to shoot my feathered arrows and fishing arrows. i got my name froghunter from shooting frogs. i have a bunch of "special" arrows for frogs but they dont shoot worth a crap from a wave rest. i shoot frogs with my fishing arrow now but miss being able to stick more than one at a time. with my other arrows i can stick several frogs to the bank before spooking them all off.

I've had good luck shooting feathered arrows across a Fish hook, shooting **** vane down it rides right in that little notch in the rest and doesn't wear much at all. I've also had good luck shooting feathers through my epoxy rests and fullbore rest, although the tighter channel does wear down on them quite a bit more

 some of my fondest childhood memeories was arrows with frog gigs on the end and stickin frogs.Where I am from is the Frog Jump(Calaveras County)its a big deal to have secret frog ponds, catch frogs...Chinese guy downtown gave us 50 cents a frog(a quarter a leg)and thats all it took!My first kill and get paid job :laugh:I had everybody wanting to kick my azz

i have never used the gig points. i use field points but i wrap the first 12" of the arrow with electrical tape. I over lap the tape so that it has a ribbed texture to it. it wont go more than 6" through a frog. works like a champ. the frog is either pinned to the ground or if it is able to jump it cant shake the arrow, making it easy to pick up out the water.

i have a fish hook i can use, but i was really wanting to shoot vanes this year. they would hold up so much better in the water than feathers.

built my first frog arrow this year on a fiber glass bowfishing arrow tri point with the bowfishing point in the middle the tri points cover about a 3 inch circle.

how bout a roller? simple and rugged. I liked the "tiger claw" type tm Hunter too. they where like a tm but the forks pointed down and away, really held a arrow good for fingers. I'd suggest a bowdoddle but they don't like a real heavy arrow 1200gr max.

will a bowfishing arrow shoot off a drop away rest like a QAD?
