Me and a buddy have been talking about going up for a day shoot. We have never been. And I was wondering if there are any special regulations we need to know. We will be bringing the boat.

Im going to be shooting from the bank during the week this summer. Do I need a wear a PFD in that situation? I knew about the PFD in a watercraft above the bridge, but I was just curious. Also anybody know what the fine is for not wearing one above the dam? Once again just curious.

Hell !! Just wear one. Even if you drowned you don't want your family waiting around for your body to pop up.

Happened to one of my nephews , took a month for him to pop up 35- 40 miles down river ! A lot more important than any ticket.

Where are you from in SEMO ??

Wow, looks like you all made a nice mess of that side walk!

That walkway is the worst thing to happen to barkley dam. My brother and I were at barkley last night and we cleaned up 2 trash bags worth of garbage left down there simply because people can carry so much more with them and not have to worry about climbing on the rocks. It's bowfisherman and fisherman alike. I wish they'd tear the damn thing out.

All I can tell u is all my trash and all my fish went back up the hill with me
I'm sorry if I came off like I was specifically blaming you, that wasn't my intention. I only meant to point out that the walkway has resulted in way bigger crowds and way more trash which is frustrating to see when people are being so disrespectful to the area they go to enjoy themselves. It's like taking a dump on the strip club stage, all its going to do is take away from their own pleasure in the long run.

I was down there the Saturday of memorial day weekend, along with 95 other people. Man it was packed, I guess I should've expected it tho. Only shot 4. Really slow. But hopefully get down there sometime soon again. I'm more of a day shooter, because of the driving distance. I'm not a big fan of staying out most of the night, then driving 1.5 hours home.
