<Which Troller Should I Get?>

Ok, here's the quick story I bought a 70lb Minn Kota potoon edition for my 24ft pontoon. It works good except when I run in a lot of weeds I have to run it on max power alot, so needless to say I have blown the handle switch twice in 5 trips. I finally convinced cabelas to exchange it for a bigger one. so that is my question should I just upgrade to the 80lb troller or jump right up to the 101lb and add another battery, and should I get the Riptide series or stick with a Maxxum series? Comments please...

size is up to you and your budget. However, I would recommend the riptide, its a pretty solid build.

IF you have to troll use a 101!! But I'd use a kicker or a fan if the buget will allow.. I will go to a kicker when my troller dies and isn't worth fixing anymore..

sorry to dissapoint, I'm going to go with the riptide 80lb. If I went with the 101 I would need to get another battery $150 and my onboard charger is only good for 2 so I would have to get a new one of them and sell the old one.

i am waiting on my 80# riptide to come in right now. should be here any day. I hope it is as good as advertised. I just wish it wasn't white. does anyone know if you can paint it black and not void the warranty?
