Does anybody else have a problem with your line tangling up around the inlet of your shoot thru rod. Mine does it almost everytime when I got to knock the arrow and it gets very annoying. Im not sure if its the line or what but I shoot woody wire. Also I tried unspooling all the wire and it helped for a bit but then went right back to tangling.

I only use brownells fast flite and spray every now and then with white lube or silicone spray will still every once and while hold the arrow up and let unwind.

one way my setup is probably different is the shoot through rod,we have large cicular holes in them from 5 inches down to 3 inches so the line won,t tangle at that point!
I know exactly what hes talking about because mine does it as well. It doesnt really tangle it just wraps around the tip. On a shoot through rod its not really a big deal because it doesnt snag, its just annoying.
I think any line does it after repeated shots and reeling back in. If it gets bad on mine I just spool it out with no arrow and hold the line while reeling back in and it normally untwists.

Has nothing to do with the type of line and everything to do with line twists. If it's just a wrap it won't hurt with the shoot thru as that was one of the reason the shoot thru was designed for. But if it gets bad take the arrow off and with the boat moving spool off all the line behind the boat. Reel it up while keeping two fingers on the line. Should take the majority of the twists put of the line

most of what your talking about is coming from line twist. If your drag is really loose and it spins when you reel it just cause a twist that knots up after repetitiveness. Get all the twist out then just pay attention to what you are doing and don't get in a panic to reel it in. problem solved

all good advice ... after a bunch of short shots line will tend to twist more... every so often shoot my line all the way to the end and reel it back in to take the twist off... also i use a slide which spins on the arrow and helps prevent this problem. allows the line to spin even when the arrow does not.

X2 on the slides, they help take a lot of tangle out.

Woody Wire is not repacked fast flight. I am close friends with the owner of the company. It may be very similar but he gets it produced straight from the manufacturer to his specs.

Slides with spinner cause more twist for me, not less. That is interesting to hear otherwise.
If the twist gets really bad I cut off a foot. If still bad I run the line out the back of the boat with no arrow on, and reel it in. Reeling through the drag is what twists line for the most part. Or it could have come off the spool pre-twisted. I spray before every shoot and between that and using a shoot thru, twists really aren't a big problem anymore.
