16x8 Freedom craft glass hull, dd, 2 blade sensenich, being pushed by a slightly built 454 got me up to 40 in deep water with 3 people according to the gps. Makes me wonder what i could get with a better hull and reduction combo.

Thats screaming! How many rpm do you have to turn to get 880 out of a 572? 40mph dry is scary too. been there and done that. Feels pretty good on some slick costal medow till I hit all that hog rootn! LOL!

I've done quite a bit to the engine and have to rebuild it about once a year! For fun we go out on the barrier island in Port O'connor and chase done coyotes on the sand, it's good times!

Now that sounds like fun you should start guided yoter trips. You get close and i will roll em over with the 12 gauge.

I was just wondering what rpm you are having to turn to get 880 out of it. I have close to 30g in my 572 and get about 760 hp at 5300. I could cam it up, go solid lift, more compression, and turn it 6500 to make that kind of HP. not sure how feasible that would be on a boat tho. Maybe you have some tricks I dont know?

At 5500 I'm turning 880, guy down here in Victoria who is an awesome mechanic and avid drag racer built the engine for me.

Will do, I'll try to get some up tonight:p

Ummm... he said it's SUPERCHARGED, ha. The torque your engine is making is probably right at the limit of what can be done with a naturally-aspirated pump-gas everyday engine at the RPM you'd want to turn it, regardless of cam, etc.

If you wanted to supercharge it, you could pretty much make however much horsepower you wanted up to the breaking point, lol.

* Edit * I see that he said 1200 supercharged... yeah, 880 is pretty amazing a that low an RPM without nitrous/supercharger.

I can do 45 but I have never really held it to the floor more the 10 seconds at a time. Might be 1 or 2 faster.

Y'all (and Cody) I'm working on getting some, she's in the shop right now getting a new bottom have to stop by and get some.
