I'm looking to switch to a pontoon for bowfishing and came a crossed this. It's a 1990 spectrum bluefin, has about a 6-8' platform on the front that I think will be great to just put lights on and go. The pontoons are what get me and I can't find any info on them other then there pickle style like hydro race boats. What do you think?

Experience from a toon, I think that will nose dive like a mother without adding a 3rd tube in the center.
Or plate between if you can fab...

Looks pretty cool. Probably get better speed and handling out of it from the flat inner edge. Depending on the size of the sponsons, it may draft a bit deeper but hard to tell. I sure if you had a bow mounted troller on there it would be easier to control as well. Look at the stains on the sides of the sponsons to see how much it drafted. Should be a scum line or something there to tell. Hell id go for it.

The toons on regular pontoon boats have separate nose cones, adds some rigidity and if you puncture them you don't lose floatation in the rest of the toon.

toons look like you are cuttin out alot of surface area for water displacement. prob wont run shallow and prob a reason you dont see alot of toons like that..... If you were looking for a project it would be awesome bc of the options of a 3rd toon in the center or closing off the center with a seet of aluminium.
