Looks good man, I got a few pointers for you....#1 You need another upright support going up to your motor plate. Make it square and put you another bearing right up under your motor plate. This will strengthen it a lot. #2 Also, I know your motor is not that heavy...but some more support going forward on your main big struts will really help strengthen the entire mount. You want that stand to flex as little as possible. When it starts flexing you will lose pushing power....and as bad as it sucks, flexing and aluminum welds = cracking. Keep up the good work and post lots of pics!

take a piece of pipe (5-6") but two pieces about 4-5" long....get some flat plate and cut you four circles 2" bigger than the size pipe you got. Weld one to each side of the pipe to make you some drums. Then go find you some stainless ball bearing garage door pulleys and stainless cable. Run your steering down one side of the boat. Drill a hole in the top and bottom of the plates sticking out of your drum and terminate your cable ends through them. Wrap the cables opposite of one another (one at the top of the drum, and one at the bottom) three wraps. Join them in the middle with turn buckles. You can make all your connections with ferrels and stops (if you have a crimper) or use small u clamps. I know that was a lot to take in...wish i had more detailed pics...do a search there are lots of guys running this type steering system.
