16 hp motor... what size fan blade?

i just purchased a 16hp duromax motor and will b putting the fan on a 14ft flatbottom... what size fan blade do i need?

I bought the same motor a month ago. I'm running a 36" Hascon.

how do you like it? how is the motor doing for you? i still have mine in the box till i get the fan..also, how many blades?

So far so good. Motor runs good. Have to choke it EVERY time you start it wether it's been running or not. Running a 3 blade at 30 degrees.

this is my first fan boat.... how fast does that fan and motor push ur boat with just 1 person at full throttle?

Faster than I would wanna shoot fish. Lol. I have it on an 1860 and with three guys it will push when I'm dragging soft bottom.

On a 14' you might need to be conserned about tipping it. Thats a lot of torque on a small boat. Im assuming its a 48" bottom.

Just keep the fan build as low as possible.

I have the same engine. Are you building this out of aluminum?

I have an 11 hp with a 36" competition aircraft prop. You should check them out if your not going with hascon. It's on 1652 and I have no stability issues, I doubt that 16 hp duromax weighs much more.

Its not so much the weight as it is the ammount of air its moving. However if you keep it low i would think you should be fine. I had a 6.5 on my old 1648 that i sold and i was very happy with the speed and power.
