Best I can find is, "President Obama is expected to announce today that Vice President Joe Biden will head a new interagency task force on confronting gun violence in the aftermath of last week’s Newtown massacre. The news comes one day after White House spokesperson Jay Carney said Obama will support the bid of Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D-CA) to reinstate the ban on assault weapons."

Everything I have seen said that Biden will spearhead it and Obama hopes to have a plan presented to him by Biden in Jan. for him to look over and try to pass. Nothing has went through as far as I have seen. (just checked a few minutes ago).
So in my opinion and I hate to step on toes here but it needs to be said, unless you have some reliable info that you can show us, please do not post garbage that will cause fear and panic.

We all made it through the 94-04 ban. The American people are a strong and resilient people, we made it through two world wars numerous smaller conflicts, Jimmy Carter, a civil war and we will make it through this, Obama is not strong enough and powerful enough to crush the spirits of the American people. We as a people have shown the world time and time again we are not going to be pushed around we are not going to surrender and we will not give up. I know it seems bad and frankly it is but have faith in your fellow Americans, have faith in humanity and believe that you a single person can make a difference in this screwed up world we currently live in. Call your representatives let your voices be heard. Its hard to ignore millions of people.

I would like to say i feel da same as you on this, but after the most recent election result, I think us who feel this way be a dieing breed. What used to be a majority is now a minority and vice versa...
I know there enough of us here that feel strongly on this issue and want to protect our rights, but quite frankly the majority of them nuckleheads could care less than three s h i t s about anything other than protecting a tree, getting what society "owe" them, or bowing down to a leader who does not even acknowledge the flag of this country or put his hand over his heart (or cavity where it supposed to be) during national functions. I use ta think things like this would never happen, America as a whole would never let this happen, but it here, and it only gettin worse.
I am worried about this nation, but then again I aint, cant help the helpless, and if the majority of the citizens of this country voted for these clowns, then I have no faith what so ever that they will band together and fight for the ORIGIONAL rights of this nation. They live in a dream world, most evey politician I can think of is so far disattached from the real world they have no clue as to what comes out of the decisions they make up there in Washington. They could care less. This gun ban is prime example. They honestly think this gonna make a difference? A criminal not gonna buy an assault rifle out the trunk of a car because this great nation has banned it? HA!
I got news for them idiots, criminals gonna be criminals regardless of the law. They just trying to protect themselves because their supporters live so far away from the real world they simply think that just because something is banned, it disappers. They sold bootleg wiskey during prohabition, what you reckon people gonna do with them assault guns? Chit, I wish I had cashed out my 401 and invested in a whole bunch of parts, I could be putting back some paper right now...
This aint no gun fault as to what going on in this nation of ours, it society fault. When I was a kid we Pledged to our flag with our hand over our heart, we was taught respect and dicipline at an early age. Got the **** beat out of us when we did bad, and we dam sure didnt have no shoot em up video games that trained us how to steal cars, initate drive by shootings, or show you the ins and outs of combat fighting like you got in games today. All I remember shooting was them dam ducks that hound dog stirred up on the Nintendo.
It way past time for ole USA to wake up in my opinion. People done forgot what the USA is supposed to be about and dont even care for a history lesson to jog their memory. All we (God fearing, gun toting, responsible citizens) can do is silently prepare ourselves for when the time comes. Weather its an ecomic crash, a hostile takeover attempt from another country, or a civil revolt, something bad is going to result from the overflow of ignorance from this nation's leaders...

in not fully understanding the gun ban... Is it just assault weapons.. Or they banning my hunting rifles to??? Ex( 30 06, 270wsm, 308, 22-250, 30-30 , 12, , 20 ga. Shotguns etc....

Ummm, it isnt garbage. The long legged mack daddy gave a news conference on it at noon eastern. I saw it with my own eyes. And he reiterated about 3 times that "this isn't a commission" meaning the group lead by Joe doesn't have to answer to congressional oversight. If you want to continue to live under a rock go ahead.

The good thing about our "breed" even if it is a dying breed, is that people like us are the only people left in this country with the testicular fortitude to stand up for what we believe in, people like us founded this country. Do you believe these tree hugging government dependent numnutts will actually ban together and stand up for their beliefs? Not just no but hell no. They will want someone else to do it for them.
