I see in most of the threads that people are using kicker motors on 17, 18, & 20 ft boats. I just bought a 1648 duracraft & was wondering if it is silly to put a kicker on that small of a boat. I have a bow mount troller but would love to take it off & possibly mount a 6hp kicker in the rear on a powertran bracket so that I can use the entire front for light rail & shooting. Any suggestions would be a great help. Thanks.

listen to mudfish and rig up the outboard unless you got money to spend on a kicker, i had my 40 rigged up for front steering and it worked great you could chase down any fish in the water.

Doesn't powertran make a wireless setup so then you don't have the stick in middle of the deck? Would rather spend more money to be able to utilize more space on existing factory deck. Has anyone heard any pros & cons on the powertran wireless setup?
