Ok so some of us in the country cant shoot fish through ice...
so what do you guys do to stay salty with your bows?
does anyone make practice tips for bowfishing? lol
but really? And I know it is alot of feel and guess work for most shooters, myself included.
would you go to an archery range that had a water tank with submerged targets and a platform to shoot at?
just an Idea im kicking around and want some feedback

I know some guys cut small chunks off pvc pipe (different diameters) and throw em out in the yard and stand on the porch or the pickup bed and practice like that. I know Gargod's got him a little washer game throwin out washer's. My problem with tryin this is when that arrow hits the frozen ground, it aint stickin so I bust up a bunch of nocks. As to the tips, I've got an old Cajun warhead I cut the barbs off. Hope that helps ya some.

Shoot my Hoyts everyday. Have a 17 yard indoor range and a 30 yard out door range except we got 4 feet of snow now. Have some arrow mats and one is a dart board and my son who moved back home for awhile and we play darts at 17 yards with our bows. Lots of fun. Bowfishing here doesn't open till May 1st. Have a new 2012 Mission Craze I have not even shot yet and won't till I see a fish. Whats to practise when everything changes going into the water.

thats why Im thinking about a shooting tank?

Cool, put some rubber blunts on arrows so it don't go through the tank. I got a target gar from Scott 3 yrs ago and have never shot it. 3D gar and ment to sink in the water.

yeah same idea! like a pond with some dirty water and and a couple of painters lights lol
just put it in the corner of the archery shop and have a wad of fiberglass bumper tipped arrows
no strings or reeling needed
heck I may just put one in my garage! lol

Cool! You in Indiana? Been to that dry state once. Rode to Lexington Kentucky to get beer on a Sunday. LOL Was at a Goldwing rally with a couple freinds. Think I was the only one there wearing leather. Got sh*t for wakeing everyone up with my Harley pipes. Got invited to the Sheriffs house for supper with his family. Was a fair grounds with a dirty race track where all the drivers were fist fighting on the track. LOL Seventeen hour ride each way on the bikes. Went for 4 days and had alot of fun driving the back roads on the bikes with the Sheriff leading the way on his police bike. Thank you for paying your taxes for him to ride with me all weekend! LOL

i bow hunt year round. useing trad bows and compounds. i think just shooting a trad bow in the yard helps. just no infraction to deal with.

And, in Texas there is no off season!

the past two days have been t shirt and shorts weather.

I live in Minnesota and I shoot year round. The Mississippi doesn't freeze in my area. When we get a cold snap( like this week, -10 was the high for yesterday), I just take a week or two off. Isn't there any big rivers in Indiana that don't freeze?

No...

I practice a bunch of different types of shots down in my basement. 18yds wall to wall. Did some shooting tonight with one of my buddies and we practiced shooting some moving targets. I got a couple cool videos on my phone that i slowed down and put together in a short clip because i was bored... Here it is

15yd "trick shot" on a swinging ball with my Disco 2 and a practice arrow. Its amazing how much launching arrows at 15-18yds all day does for my close up shooting on the river as well as my spool emptying super sniper shots on feeding grassies...
