I'll start out by saying thanks to Slowpoke and his family for the donation of this trip to benefit the two boys that tragically lost their lives. Slowpokes' whole family is awesome. Everything needed for a trip of a lifetime was available to us. Lodging, tackle, boats, and trophy bass, he'll even fresh eggs for breakfast and beer in the fridge. All we had to do is show up and drop our line in the water. I'm not a big bass fisher, haven't even tied on a lure in more than 15 years. I do have a son-in-law and nephew that love to bass fish tho and they jumped at the chance to bid on this opportunity. We were very lucky to win the bid and after the experience, we all feel that we under paid.

I've never fished anyplace where there was a chance at a double digit wall hanging fish on ever cast. (And I fished lake Fork back in its prime). It's absolutely insane fishing. The number of not just fish, but BIG FISH was crazy. There's no telling what a real bass fisherman would have caught. Lol. We caught well over 100 fish per day, and not your tie-dyed bank runners, but 3-4-5-6-7 lbs of some of the best fighting fish I've ever caught. The lake itself was beautiful. Slowpokes family have built a trophy bass fishery.

We have never fished so hard for so long. Tired does not begin to explain how we felt at the end of each day. Slowpoke offered to take us Bowfishing at night but we declined. (Too tired). He offered to take us hog hunting, again thanks, but sorry we're too tired. (Hope I don't get blacklisted for telling that). It was a great time spent with family and some new friends. I don't know what it is about this site, but everyone I've met from here has been the best people you could every meet. The kind of people that I'm honored to know and now call friend.

Wish I was a better writer and a better photographer, but honestly we were too busy fishing to take a lot of pics. Most of theses pics were taken by the boys. So thanks to them for that or my story would be worthless. Lol.

Again I can't say THANK YOU enough to Slowpoke and his family. Also to BFC and all those that put items up for bid. What a great group of folks here.
