Just a Nikon D60, bought it to take underwater photos with but couldnt spend 1600 on an underwater case before the last vacation so hopefully next time on that! Wouldnt mind a faster camera for the moto track though, the D60 doesnt shoot quite fast enough in sequence to make good sequence shots
Nice right now I have an Olympus 1030sw point and shoot (10.1mp, shock proof to 10ft drop and waterproof to 30ft). Been looking at a Fuji HS10, I think when I get my tax return I'm gonna be buyin one.
Nice photos mag! I love that stream photo. Would probably look real good on a tripod with a slower shutter speed. That disturbance in the water would give it a good milky look that i think would look neat

The MP quality of point and shoots has gone up ridiculously high lately. The take good photos but you can only do so much without a real lense. The other problem with a point in shoot is you get paralax which isnt near as bad as it use to be with improvements in technology but its still there. Theyre perfect for just taking portait pictures but outside they cant keep up. Ive seen some that can even manually adjust the shutter speed but they just cant do the things an slr can
The HS10 is a bridge camera, not quite an SLR (don't have to shell out as much cash for lenses) but way better than a standard point and shoot. It's lens is fixed (non-removable) but has a 30x optical zoom (24 - 720mm)
NOPE! I was THAT CLOSE!! I had 263 of them at one time that I sold. I used to snake hunting ALOT and was pretty good at handling them and all. He was WORE OUT when I took that pic.!!
Im not sure what they cost but the price of SLR's has gone down considerably also. You can get a good used SLR that will outperform the hs10 probably at a close to the same price
This photo was on the old site. it's my favorite of all that I have taken. Because it's of a rolling Gar but not just any gar. This was purely accidental. But it's a hybrid Gator Gar/Longnose Gar.
My camera is a Canon Rebel digital I was using a 400mm lens when I took this photo. I was up high when I took it. This fish was close to 100 yards away.
I still hadn't gotten my photo's off my external hard drive since I got a new computer, transferring some now so I can get them posted.
in the meantime check these out. This is my moms cousin, he is a professor at the university of Wyoming in Laramie, but does photography as a "hobby". http://brettdeacon.com/index.php
Nice pic! Wish i had a huge telephoto lens like that! Maglite id like to go snake hunting some time if you ever do it still? had a race in gordon at one point also.
Those are some nice pics! I love the milky river photos. Not sure why i like them so much but those are cool! I noticed he is shooting film at least some also. And lot more $$$ wrapped up in his equipment lol. I wish i had it lol and the talent for that matter
I can't even begin to fathom the amount of money he has wrapped up in cameras and gear. Yeah he still does some large format film. He has parts on the site about what he using and how he does some stuff. Also if you see he sells prints and has also been featured by several different art galleries, so I'm guessing he makes plenty with all that to support his hobby... and then some.
