They say the shafts are "indestructible" well after using ours for about 2 1/2 to 3 weeks it shattered and broke in half when we were just 1 hr into the tournament...is there anything to help this not happen again...we r gonna run into stuff it's part of the game but something to help a lil would be nice if anybody has advice

i know one way mount the troller on the rear in a slot so it can kick up when you hit objects spring load it so you can back up but then will need a knee operated weedless front rudder that you put in and out of the water when fishing . will work but i guess the troller could be rigged to be controled from the front like a kicker motor also.we had to build a rudder because our fan didn,t steer well.

how's it rigged? are you using the spring loaded breakover thingy or direct mounting for swivel only?

What kind of mount is it? Any give to the mounting system?

I like the composite shafts a lot more than steel shafts, but they don't really flex much unless they are pretty long. Without flex, something has to give somewhere with a hard enough hit.

Mine is a solid mount the one Scott sells on bowfishing extreme it comes with 2 sleeves I took them outtook the board of the troller so just the shaft as there slid a 1 1/4 electric conduit over the shaft took a garden hose sliced it down the middle and shimded it out. I broke around one or two a year till I did this haven't had a issue since and I have been running it like this for the last 10 years.

I use a pontoon mount (no spring or give) to save floorspace also and haven't busted a shaft. But I would look at getting the spring mount of some kind if you're having that much trouble.
