'12 Potomac Snakehead Smackdown Results & Pics

Here are a few pics I got at the tourney this year & the results. I'm not sure who else that weighed in gets on BFC so sorry if I didnt list your name below but at least I got a picture of the results.

Total of (18) Teams weighed in but I was told there was like a (108) particapants & a bunch of teams didnt weigh in... over 1400 lbs of Snakeheads were brought in & I dont think any of them were tagged... once again, it was a great tourney w/ good people, free beer, free food, great Prizes, free music, etc.... All in all a good time... See ya'll next year


1st Place - Team Blazer (Dave Boyden) - (25) Snakeheads totaling 229.68 lbs ($1500) - Winning Lunker @ 16.28 lbs ($975)

2nd Place - Team Pokin' Guts (Greenhead & crew) - (17) Snakeheads totaling 187.96 lbs - Lunker 14 lbs something

3rd Place - Michael Nutter (I cant remember their team name) - (33) Snakeheads totaling 179.92 - Lunker 12.92 lbs

4th Place - Team Captn' Stabbin' (Skyhook & crew) - (23) Snakeheads totaling 141.86 lbs - Lunker 14 lbs something

11th Place - Team River Rat (me, Skeeter & hitman33440) - (7) Snakeheads totaling an outstanding unbelievable net weight tipping the digital scales at a whopping 44.68 lbs (& the crowd roars int he background) LOL... we got straight up whooped but some good shootin' good guys that made way better calls on where to go than us... Congrats to all... good shootin' guys... there's always next year to get our plastic gold championship belt back LOL

We blasted a few Gar... got tired of running them over w/ the troller & not seeing any Snakeheads so something had to die

Yeah! Hey Zach sorry I didn't get a chance to talk to ya. You were standing next to me and I had another convo going. When I turned around you were gone. Congrats on second place. Really shows you what some scouting can do for ya. Maybe TRR should try doing it.......:tap:

Skeeter or heed the info from a phone call in the middle of the night! But hey Atleast you didn't have the rookies that partied till they past out. Nets and gaffs are your friends when taking giant Snakeheads. I guess I couldn't get that in my crews head. I was at their mercy having sold my boat the week before. Not again. But i had a great time anyhow.

Sounds like you had a couple nice ones get off at boatside, that sucks!

Great job to all. We had planned on coming but cancelled at the last minute, with the full moon and cool front. I really wished we would have came on up. Looks like yall smoked em! W e will make the trip later in the summer though and bust some.

I/we had 8 pull off at the side of the boat, hense the rookies and nets comment. We had 2 fish strip all the line out the bottle in a straight away run and pulled off the arrow. That was an awesome sight though! The lady shooter almost lost her new bow on one of those runners. Cant even count how many were missed. We had a second boat with 2 guys as you were allowed 6 people to a team. But at the last minute the owner signed up his son and made 7 so they broke off and were their own team (Eric Hitch on the white board picture). They shot 9 fish totaling almost 62 pounds. That was a swift kick to the nuts.

Its cool man, I will see ya at the ray tournament! We didnt get to do as much scouting as we would of like to since the storms that rolled through.

we should have Dutch & also should have scouted but they say hine sigth is 20/20... ya'll did good & we lost a few too... we just didnt see the #'s we needed... if it was Gar #'s shoot, there'd of been alot of sunk boats in that river... dang they were thick... we were hitting them in the back w/ the troller prop & messing up their little orgy's... LOL
