got the deck all welded up finally

 

decking all on

 

i started on my remote ballast box and got my steering wheel/forwards reverse controls mounted

Why are you going with a flush deck. I am rebuilding a similar boat and have installed a 16 inch raised deck on mine. Your's awasnt to wobbly was it?

 

ya it was too tippy for me....i started out with flush went to raised now im back and i like it so far..

Yes sir..my goal was to get more room. And taking the councel out gave me some more

 

ya the steering wheel seems very sketchy haha but hey if it works why not

Nice to see ya had the ballz to rip the guts out-I love seeing that! Do it up how ya need it done.

I'm also not sure on that steering...it's all on the right side, so isn't that gonna make it hard to work both the wheel AND the throtttle? I know on mine I'm constantly working both with both hands-especially when docking.

Your deck turned out good as well, better than I had envisioned. You go with 1/16" or 1/8"?

 

i went with 1/8 for the main cross sections and 1/16 for the fillers

 

I am building an 81 1648 bass tracker myself yours looks good i have the same problem with space and the steering console. i found a shorter steering cable and cut the console down as much as i could ... moved it back over 2 feet . i will get some pictures on here as soon as i can. looks good keep at it!

 

Mine is a 1648 bass attacker almost the same as your bass tracker. I am planning on mounting my console on the backside of the deck so it doesn't take up much room. Hopefully Ill have some pics after this weekend.
