Alright so I guess i tryed to post last night in while they were upgrading the server and it didnt go through...my luck..Here it is again.
My wife went bowfishing with Hoopty and his wife a couple of years ago while i was out of town. She got hooked and has been trying to get me to go since. I finally had the opportunity to go with a buddy of mine and had a blast so I thought i would build my 1648..I have limited steel welding experience(im alright) but i though Aluminum cant be that much harder, so i bought a spoolgun....wrong ! But im getting better.here it is ... I had to build the transom up for a 20'' motor i got a good deal on.

I have 12 27 watt Led's from Chad on the way. Still have a battery box to build, rails and skin the deck.

Badtxmofo, nice build! Looks sick! Im in the process of doing one on my 1648 flat bottom alumacraft as well. Im struggling figuring out how to mount it. I wanna be able to take in on and off relatively quickly. It appears that you could do this if you wanted. Did you use like 6 inch pieces of 2 inch angle to weld your uprights too that sit on your round side rail of your boat with a bolt through it? Or is that a channel? I'm thinking that's how i want to do mine. Is that all its sitting on is those 6 spots of the edge of the rail? Thanks man

No it's al 1 1/2 square, I cut one side out and it fit perfect, I think they are 4inches maybe I drilled a hole in the front two and back two and ran bolts through to secure it. All my lights are run to the deck with trolling motor plugs so I can unplug them and remove it. I made a leg on the front middle with a foot that sits on the little existing deck and one on the back middle that sits on a rib.
