I have been on the forum for a quite a while. I’ve seen a lot of awesome boats and gotten a whole lot of good information. My boat is still in progress, but I hope to have it finished soon so it’s ready to fish. I have waited a while to post pictures. After lurking on the forum for a long time, I had a pretty good idea of what I wanted. I found a good deal on a 1756 Triton and couldn’t pass it up. Hopefully this may give someone some ideas on their next build. If you have any suggestions and ideas please send them my way as this is my first boat build. Here we go… Here is right after I bought it.

I cleaned up the boat, put new tires on the trailer, got the motor running right, replaced the battery, replaced the winch on the trailer, and repainted the trailer. I took the deck I had on my 1648 and my buddy and I made it work for the time being on the “new” boat so I could at least fish last year.

This build would not be possible without my buddy Trey. He has done an awesome job fabricating and welding everything for me. This is the first picture after he started putting in the bracing.

Then he added some bracing in between (a lot of it is angle so it's not as heavy as it might look, but it’s very strong!). He also removed the front piece and added vertical bracing.

This would be the last time I would be able to access under the flush deck so I picked up some interlocking mats from harbor freight and cut them to fit. If I have to replace them, I will have a template to cut more when I remove these. Should be a great place for bow storage.

Next up was the flush deck and light rails. I wanted the rails to be removable, so he made me some stubs that stick up that the light rail will sit in. They will be bolted to the stubs and should make for a easy removal to do other things in the boat besides bowfishing.

Next I wanted some more deck space in the rear of the boat so he built this hatch and sides. Should make more room for generator and for someone to stand if they want to fish from the back.

When we took the light rails off, it looked a little funny with the stubs sticking up, so some square tubing was added between the stubs to give it a more finished look.

That’s how the boat sits now. Need to wire in all of the lights, install the troller bracket and troller, install some deck matting and it should be ready to fish. Want to paint it, add a stereo, add some interior lights, and a few more things, but they may have to wait until after bowfishing season.
hydroturf has their black deck mats on clearance in the surplus roll. consider that over the harbor freight mats.
That is very similar to what I am doing to mine. I'm glad you posted it gave me a few ideas. Looks awesome.
