I bought this 2012 boat motor and trailer at the very end of 2011. 1860 sc mod v with a 4 stroke 90 horse merc.

Tonight, I finally got around to doing the first mods to the boat. Yes I know it has taken awhile...

I mounted a 70 lb 24 v troller first.

Next came four battery trays, 2 for the troller and 2 for the led lights (not installed yet)

Next I installed one of the two on board chargers from my sponsor this ones for the troller, the other for the LEDs

that looks like some pretty light wire for running the trolling motor

according to Minnkotas electrical code section that wire is correct for the amperage the troller draws. Also that is the factory wiring from the troller lol.

according to what I found on the minn kota site

for a trolling motor that draws 37amps and a run of 20'(18' boat with w few bends to get to the batteries) they show 6awg is needed and it looks like you have 10 awg or so.

Straight out of there manual... 70# at 24V 50 amp cb, 10' 10 awg, 20' 10 awg, 30' 8 awg, 40' 8 awg, 50' 6 awg
