We are trying to build a fan on our boat and I need some input but I don't want overkill but I don't want minimum

yea guys what we are lookin for is to push the boat 5 to 7 mph in open water but we dont wont get stuck on trees and stuff the boat does draft pretty shallow.

see now all you have to worry about is how deep you want to dig in your pockets cuz a 38 kohler with a reduction and like a 62" or more 3 blade will be beast

30-40 hp will be about right.Any less and you'll be wishing you had more.Ditto on the reduction.That's like adding 4WD.:tu:

a reduction adds on average 33% more power to a prop because you can pitch it low and get more thrust

it lowers the noise level and lowers the stress on the motor crank tremendously
