Is the move to Potholes this year because of all the carp dieing off on Moses Lake?

Actually haven't even heard of a major carp die off in Moses Lake. Just decided to make the change to the Potholes because it is 3x larger than Moses and loaded with carp. Hoping it makes for better opportunities for everyone to shoot more fish and spread out the boats a little more. We'll see how it goes this year then decide whether to switch back to Moses Lake next year or stick with Potholes.

No night tournaments in the works just yet. Very few teams around here are setup for night shooting.
Thats too bad. It's a blast over there at night. If ya ever need help with a night tournament, or decide to do one...I'll be there in a heartbeat!!

I might try to show up at your tournaments this year.

Night shooting in the Potholes is a ton of fun. We usually only do a few times a year, typically taking beginners out since it's a lot easier to get them on fish at night. Would definitely be fun to do a night tourney sometime though. You should try to make it to our State Championship in June, hoping to have over 40 teams this year!

Mike and I will be there. Hopefully to get revenge from Boardman. LOL We would also love to see a night Tourny. We are not set up for it as all are day shoots. We will put on lights if you want to have a night shoot. I think we are out Growing our 16 foot Ranger. Time for a 21 footer with a 225.

Boardman was definitely a good time last year, good way to end the season. Hopefully be able to rally a few more teams to get down there this year! We got our own camping spot this year so we don't have to beg you guys to let us charge batteries.

Not sure about a night shoot yet. But there might be some guys at the Jackpot that will be rigged up and ready to go for a little Saturday night competition, you guys should bring lights if you have them by then. If for nothing else, just going out and having some fun Friday and Sat night. Steppin up to a 21' with 225 huh? Damn! I'd be happy with just a motor that starts everytime! HA

As for shooting in April, it's all weather dependent. But you're right, the river could be blown out with mud. We are putting any restrictions on shooting Potholes before the Jackpot so you guys could do some scouting on the reservoir or hit Moses Lake. When you think you'll be getting into town? We'll probably be at the Mardon Resort sometime on Friday afternoon.

Popcorn Pokorney! Good to see you on here bud!

Sounds like we have enough interest in a night shoot that we'll plan on doing one Saturday night after dinner. I let the rest of the crew know through email. What do you guys think for a format? I was thinking like 1 big fish per boat like you Idaho boys do at Walcott. Or maybe 2 smallest fish total per boat.

Matt and I got the boat out of the engine shop this week, put the deck on last night and bolting the lights on today. Headed over to see how(if) the motor runs and maybe shoot a fish or two after the sun goes down! Let the 2011 season begin!!

Drink lots of beer and have a blast its a big 5 tournament that levels the playing field a ton because you dont have guys like John and Jim out there that dont miss in a total weight tournament and beat everyone by 600 pounds

Jeffro,

Great to hear you'll be joining us! All of the guys you'll meet there are great about helping and sharing information. Are you on our email list? If not, shoot me a message with your email address and I'll get you added. I occasionally send out email with tournament updates, or you can find the info on our website. Come introduce yourself when you get to the tourney, we'll be in the big tan Cabelas tent.

Tony, maybe if you had a cleaner hat you and Popcorn could shoot straight like John and Jim!
