I realize the size of the 50 watt lights are in this thread several times but what I want to know is what is the min vertical clearance for mounting these lights?
Bare minimum is maybe 10". I built my rail 11.5" high to mount my lights.

One of the 50w I got is white light but the other one is this messed up looking yellow lights. Is there something wrong with the yellow one are did they just seen the wrong light. I never noticed it till i turned my metal halogen lights of to do some night fishing for crappy without the generator.
I'm betting you got a "warm white" which produces a more yellow light.

Been running 10 27's on a 12v set up for about alil over a month now and have to say that I'm very pleased with how they perform. Don't penetrate as well as the 225 ultras did but the not having to mess with the genny and listening to it run all night has made it worth it, never noticed how much noise them pesky bugs made with the genny running ;). Going to probably add 4 more lights for more coverage area as well as upgrade to 24v's. The 12v set up runs good and has run the battery down to 65% left after 2 and 1/2 hours of constant use so can't complain too much. Thanks again Custom

an update is a good idea. Running a 24' pontoon with (7) 27 watts along each side about a foot apart and (3) 27 watts and (1) 50 watt on each side in the front. Running a 24 volt system and so far have run them for 4 hours straight with no problems.

Total quiet, good light, flip a switch for instant on & off.

Just as many bugs, no better but no worse for seeing in muddy water however it seems to make the fish glow a bit in muddy water not sure if it is because I have more light now or if it is an effect of the LED's

I used to run (8) 70 watt MH lights 2 on each side and 2 on each side in the front

ddolph also said (run them for 4 hours straight with no problems.)

What do you guys do for the rest of the nite????
Only ran from 9 pm till 1 am then we quit for the night, lights were still going strong not sure yet how long they will last so I keep a backup set of (2) 12 volt batteries. I need to run them till the lights blink out so I know if I need to carry the back up batteries cause they are heavy!
I did run the (20) 27 watt lights for about 9 hours straight and the lights were still working I just have not run 8-9 hrs straight since I added the (2) 50 watt lights on the front

Good deal. I'd be up a $hit creek only being able to go 4 hours. lol

on customfritz there are 2 differnt 50watt lights. wats the difference besides price and housing? does one have an advantage over another? is anyone running the $80 50watt? im looking at buying leds but need advice on wat to get. I like the $80 50watt or the 27watt. any input would be great.

Brand new to the bowfishing world. Been a bowhunter for several years and love the sport. I went out on my first trip a few weeks ago.......needless to say i am hooked. Just bought a couple 27w leds from customfitz for my very small boat. Can't wait to get on the water!
