she's a beast. 23' deck boat conversion. kept the seats on the back 1/3, and the front 2/3 is all shooting deck space now with light boxes, and a recess in the middle for the fish bucket. i don't have any other pictures of her lit up on the lake, but i took these out in the shop. she's not much to look at, but she's got it where it counts.

thanks. my previous boat had the usual raised platform over the lights. i like the light box route just because you have a little more mobility and elbow room without feeling like you're gonna fall off of something, but you can still step up and down with ease if you want... sorry, none of this is on topic per se for the kill thread, apologies.

First to strike in SD!! Yesterday was a great day! I broke the SD BAA State record Northern Pike by 2 pounds then my wife shot one that was 2 pounds bigger than mine so she has the pending BAA south Dakota Northern Pike Record right now! And she is 8 months pregnant! We ended the day with 56 because the perggo was getting very tired haha

So the current pike record is 8.6lbs and I shot one that was 10.5 and went through the whole video weight process for my record then a half hour later my wife shot hers and it weighed 12.1lbs hahaha So I called the guy that has the current record and I said well I got good news and I got some bad news...The good news is I broke your BAA record... the Bad news is Tara (my wife) broke my record hahaha

I gave those pike to a guy that is going to eat them

You going to get your name in the book before hers? I imagine those records just start being kept?

Can you imagine the size of the fish they used to spear 3000 years back? I can envision some chief's kid coming back a with an 80lb musky he speared one morning, talking it up all day. Spring is here, it will be a good year, my medicine is strong. Then in the afternoon, his squaw trapping one that was even bigger, and him getting all indignant over it.

Very nice sodak.

Dang Kayak, looks like you all did alright....

But we freaking slayed ‘em last night...got (27) snakeheads , (2) Grassies 1 was 54# other 37#, and (5) common carp, we actually quit shooting at commons due to wanting to be ready for snakeheads, we had commons all night swimming just ahead of the boat in groups is 2-5 or more....

We kinda did same with CHS if hit everything we shot at shoulda had about 40-50+ snakeheads, but my son was on a roll, shooting snakeheads on the fly at 20’+, Izzy’s son stuck the smaller Grassie getting outta dodge, was an oh’ chit moment for sure with the youngin getting first arrow in it, we all whiffed on the big Grassie and took about 10 minutes to hunt it down again. We only fished 4 hrs and were back home about midnight....
