After deck removed

 

New deck frame still needs a few braces. Didn't turn it to bad to be built in the drive way last night till 3am.:bff: .

 

looks a lot better with that old deck off the boat. Good luck with the build

Got the new frame bolted to the new brackets 7 bolts to remove the deck.
Getting ready to sandblast the boat and rip out the old floor. What's everyone's thoughts on primer to use on bare aluminum . Or I may just leave it bare aluminum I like that look.

 

We fish bare aluminum, looks sharp when its clean but if you fish daytime any at all you'll hate it. Makes it super hot even with the interior painted.

Dont sandblast any surface you plan on welding to!!

No. Well maybe it's the easiest, but for the love of God, don't sand blast the inside, or any surface you plan on welding to.

It's a pain in the arse, but use a wire wheel, paint stripper, sandpaper, spoons, forks, anything but sandblasting to remove the paint.

When you sandblast it, it drives the impurities and blasting media deep into the metal, and then it won't weld worth a chit. You can still weld to it, but be prepared to do some serious grinding...

 

that boat is a BEAST!... will look amazing once you clean it up

ok guys started striping the paint don't have a good pic of it got to dark on me still plenty more to do. I think this boat has been at least 4 different colors the boat will probly float in 2in less water after all of the paints gone .
got some of the floor put down also today. hope to have this thing back on the water in a few weeks I haven't shot at a fish in over a moth and its killing me !!!!!!

Yea its for rough country lol it was on there when I bought the boat along with 3 other spire tires font know why they didn't put a good one on the trailer

 

Well guys I got around to putting some paint on my old rig. I couldn't do it last season I had to shoot some fish. ..

 

Looking good. Did you have to add anything to the paint to help it adhere to the hull? I've heard aluminum is a pain to paint. What kind of trim tabs are those???

 

the paint is just green self etching primer. not sure on the trim tabs ill get back to you on it.
