I found a pretty good deal on a used 35hp Vanguard, but it only has a 1 1/8 shaft on it. I know most people run the 1 7/16 shaft. Will the 1 1/8 shaft hold up or am I better off passing on it and waiting for a 1 7/16?

If you are getting a reduction the 1 1/8 will be ok in my opinion.

I waited and went with the 1-7/16" might as well get as much beef as you can but im sure with a reduction a 1-1/8 would be fine
