Have a shakespeare synergy steel titanium 4000ti that has only been used a few times usually just rides in boat because I always forget to push the button, so is basically new. Took line off to replace with lighter line but now I can not get the cover off any ideas? Any buddy want to trade for some safety slides or a tip or two? Or just give me an idea on removing the cover.:headbang::cf:

You must have cross threaded it,not sure what to tell ya,but keep trying.If I didnt have four of em already I would take it
My ti20 did that the other day. Once the cover was off there was all kinds of mud and grass and etc in there. I just had to bow up on it and get it off. I really thought it was cross threaded but just ended up bein "welded" shut with crap!
Well that sounds like the threads are gone to me... Not good at all you may just have to salvage what parts you can get and get another
If thats the case wont be getting another it was only in the boat 3 times and shoot maybe 20 times. Hope my new Zebco 808 magnum holds up better.
I almost think I remember that same thing happening to me.The threads are pretty fine,and "chinsy",I think what happened was ,I bottomed out.....dont get to say that very often....meaning It went past the last thread,try and pull up at the same time you are twisting,I think once I got it of,it was O.K. just couldnt tighten it all the way.
Anyone interested in the 4000ti for parts or to try and get apart I can get it so I give up. Guess I'll stick with a retriever.
The plastic insert inside the metal cap is slipping, you will have to drill a couple of small holes thru the cover, being sure to clear the spool and insert 2 pins or drill bits and turn with those, that should get it off, but then you will need to replace the cover.
Naw won't make it this year and not sure if Chris is going or not, he did mention it but not sure if he's partner could make it or something like that!
