So I decided I would try out my new boat Saturday night. I get to one of my normal spots put the boat in fire up the genny and head out. Well there is a highway that runs right through the middle of the swamp and you have to cross under several bridges to get to the good holes but you're never more then 600 or 700 yards from the highway. Well we are fishing this lily pad patch and I swing under one bridge turn around and hit the edge of the pads again and some lights on the bridge catch my attention. Its not anything new cause people stop to watch all the time. About that time he hits the blues. Now my fiancé and her cousin are freaking out "what did we do? We're in trouble" and all that. I tell them to calm down its nothing big as I turn off the genny. The look on the cops face is priceless. You can clearly tell he has never seen anything quite like this before. With a chuckle he asked how we are doing and what we are doing in middle of this swamp at 11 at night. I tell him we are bowfishing and that completely blows his mind. He proceeds to tell me that they got a call from someone passing through that a car has run off the road and is in the swamp and there's people standing on top of it that need help. At that point I can't contain my laughter and bust our laughing and the cop joins me. So he says he will call in to central to tell them what was going on and to tell anyone who calls in what it is. Then he asks what we fish for and I told him and showed him a couple I had shot. With another laugh he told us to be careful and have a good night. I thought I'd share this with y'all and see if anyone has ever had an encounter like this.
