End of august I shot a few nights and all my usual spots were in their late summer slump, definitely a lack of action so I wanted to try a new area I knew would hold big cats and carp, just didn't know if they would be shallow or not.

First night I went I was supposed to meet up with a friend and I one of his buddies but he got caught up at work. Told me he would still try to meet me at the ramp but he never did make it. Launched the boat and was on carp right away. After a few hours the big flatheads started to make their way shallow. Ended filling the barrel being pretty picky and passing up several hundred carp looking for the flatheads or really big carp. I found out the only thing harder then landing a big catfish by yourself is trying to take pictures by yourself haha

Pulled off several nice flatheads as well including one that was hands doen the biggest cat I have ever saw. I was bummed but knew it's all part of the game

Called the buddies up and told them that I wanted to take them To my new found honey hole. With a full moon Saturday night and some thunderstorms rolling through I didn't know how we would make out. we hit the water little after dark a didn't take long to find the carp again. Not as many but told the boys to show no mercy. Shot a few and had to take cover from a down pour that lasted 20 mins and then it was on. Definitely didn't see as many flatheads probably due the full moon and the water clarity was a little worse then the week before but didn't take to long to get a few on the boat plus my buddies first fish with the bow. He ended with 3 or 4 carp but we couldn't get him on any flatheads.

Nice! Man I wish we could shoot cats here.

Wow, nice shooting man. Never seen that many flats in one picture before!!
They are not native to our rivers here in eastern PA. Just another example of invasive species taking over ecosystems. I love fishing shooting and eating them but you can only imagine how so many large top predators have affected the native and game fish populations

Sweet pics what did you shove down that carps belly
Haha a bowling ball. Love finding the occasional egg laden fish come late summer and fall
