I added 12" walks to my 1860 Seaark and I love them! I never step on the floor except for when I have to anymore. I did mine to the shape of the boat sides not straight and I think it looks good. I swear it strengthened the boat up as well.

I have lots of pics of the welding before it was done but it had a smaller flush deck bolted to it when I bought it. It had 4 homemade 250watt hps lights and digital ballast but I removed everything on top of the existing deck and just extended it another 24" to the back and then from there measured 12" and kept that 12" measurement going to the back of boat at the curve of the boat. I went back and forth on how wide I wanted them because I have a size 12 shoe so I did it 12" all the way was going to do it straight 12" to 10" because I was worried about how much room I would have on either side of my center console. Now that's its done honestly I would sacrifice the room between the walk and the console and go 14" wide because I love them and honestly don't even get on the floor while I'm fishing! From there I have 6 common swag 400 watt HPS and digital ballast mounted and have blacktip installed on it for walking surface
