I shoot a muzzy carbon arrow with a carp point- i love it. I also have some green splash arrows(to match my swamp assasin) topped with innerloc pro points- i love them too. your gonna get different opinions no matter what questions you ask, and all of these responses are good, but the best way to find the perfect tip for you would be to shoot a couple of different ones and weigh out the good aspects from the bad. If i were you i would heed the advice of these good men on here and keep shootin muzzy's, just make sure the point is finger tight before you shoot and the threads wont get messed up... good luck!!
Right on... We all shoot different conditions, different fish, different goals for what we want... And there are people ALL across the country on this site chime'n in with what works for them in their part of the world.. so my advice is to pay attention to what those accomplished guys close to home are doing!!

Muzzy's all the way and they stand behind there products. I've been shooting them for over 20yrs never had a problem. Still have the first one and it has accounted for thousands of fish, can't say the same for the fiber glass arrow.

Thanks for all the help guys! I found an innerloc pro point I had packed away in 1 of my boxes that I glued on today. Gonna shoot it for a bit and see what I think. I shoot up in South Dakota so bowfishing isn't such a big thing as y'all got down there so it's tough findin guys who have been at it for a while. After I put 100 fish or so on it I'm gonna make a decision and order some new point for the other shafts cuz they are still decent.

Sadly my shure shot arrow snapped off my line (my fault I admit) so I can't take a picture of the barbs to show y'all. Best I can describe it is 1 side stayed straight and the other tweaked sideways about 30 degree so nothin major just enough to piss me off since I was only about 20 fish into that new arrow.

How many fish have spun the point on the Sure Shot so the barbs turn back loosing the fish. The only experience I have had with any with that design is continued loss of fish when the tip spins. Do the sure shots stay tight all the time when fish are stuck. That is why I never have shot them. If they will not turn loose then I might shoot some.
I have shot Warheads and have lost almost every fish with them because they spin open and the fish fall off before getting near the boat. I have even tightened them with pliers, and still spin open. So I junked them. I have never tried another head of that design. I do not want to shoot Sure Shots and loose another tournament because the fish spin the point open. The Warheads cost use a lot of money.
I have shot many fish with Shure Shot and haven't lost hardly any due to them spinning the point open. I have shot fish over 50lbs. with with no troubles or damage. I usually take a little teflon tape and put it on the threads of the point just to add a little resistence. I have heard that bow string wax works also but have never tried it.

I've only busted the barbs on 1 but I've had the threads get messed up on 2 others. Do you guys have any experience with grapples? or are those just too bulky for good penetration? I shoot 45-50# compound (I haven't put it on a scale to know)
i shoot a 3 barb graple and u hit a fish in the tail and it wolnt come out hell ive shoot some mouth and they dont come out and the art the best just sharpen the tip after u r done shooting

I have abused the hell out of my muzzy shooting into dirt practicing then going out and shooting into big rocks. i dulled out my gar point a bit but the tip itself is completely fine. I also made sure they were tight every shot and even when slamming into rocks i could unscrew the tip off just as easy as before. the threads were fine. I would try the wax idea. I also bent my barbs in too.

Gene by gawd Davis 2 barb!

Another vote for the 3 barb grapple, i shoot them, wife shoots them, never had a fish come off, never had a penetration issue, screwing the tip off is kind of a pain but worth in IMO

I love the Muzzys but I have broke lots of barbs over the year, never shattered a shaft though. Im sticking with what I know!!!! and trust. I abuse my shafts and will not think twice about sending them in full boar into rocks, stumps or whatever. Muzzy all the way here!!

for a all around good head muzzy is hard to beat preformance is proven while not perfect it does a good job
