Or at least they are a lot smarter than those in salt water... I have spent the last few weekends above livingston chasing down a GG with little luck. I see plenty, but they are always 20 yards out. I move over 20 yards, and they pop up where I came from, darn elusive species. So this last weekend I decided to go check out the flounder situation on the coast, and lo and behold, I find a number of GG cruising the flats. I stuck this 5'9" around 10pm by myself and managed him in without any backup arrow. It seems I can almost always find GG when I hit salt water not looking for them, but never get close when I am in fresh and trying for one. Whats the deal?!
Any weight guess on a 5'9" salt water GG? I don't own a scale.
