I just bought a used boat that has a plywood floor. looking to get an aluminum floor installed by a shop or do myself. we called a metal company in northern IL and a 4x8 sheet of .125" was $350!!! does that sound right? Also, does anyone have any recommendations for shops that could do it in the IL, MI, IN, WI area?

Find a machine shop in your area and see if they have any sheets if they don't see if they can order one in for you on there next order. Its going to be pricey only ordering one sheet from a distributor. I just ordered a bunch of aluminum a sheet it was 126$ but I also order 10 sheets and a lot of other stuff too. I would say a fair price would be $150-200.

I just picked up a couple sheets of 4x8 x 3/16" for 230 each. 350 for a 4x8 x 1/8" is unreal. Keep looking!

I just bought a bunch myself, and that's an insane price.

Alro steel quoted me $230-ish if I recall. I shopped around and found a place called Schupan aluminum-they quoted me around $150 for the same sheet of diamond plate. Plus they sell drops on their website, which is VERY handy if you don't need a full sheet or full length tube. And they carry plastics too.
