Is the Ankor qt tip, with a carbon fiber arrow shaft, and metal rings good for sticking and holding into mahi and cobia species?

For a speed demon fish like cobia I wouldnt use anything QT. FX points hold better imo. Innerloc Grapples are WAY cheaper than Ankors too.

Carbon fiber shaft with a fiberglass core would be your best bet for penetration also imo

Metal slides will have less drag than plastic slide for sure if using bottle reels. If using spinner reels or megamouth tie to the back and have less drag.

You dont want a light shaft. You want a heavy shaft for pentration. This isnt bowhunting. your arrow needs to move through water and fish.

Stiffest shaft is something like these

Just depends how much you want to spend.

Idk if you're grasping the kinetic energy drift. Granted, I have never shot cobia or mahi mahi but I'm assuming those are strong, fast fish and could be taking some deep water shots.

You want a heavy, stiff arrow for that kind of action. I shot a 35lb paddlefish and when I got it to shore my solid fiberglass arrow was shattered. Which is fine because those shafts are like $5-$7.

You could be just fine buying plain white fiberglass shafts But there is a reason hardly anyone makes a hollow carbon fiber arrow like a hunting shaft. because you need strength and stiffness to penetrate water.
