Sorry I have asked alot of questions for the wiring I'm about to do on my 400s! But i do have one more. I think I'm going to wire up the lights to 2 hea y duty extension cords that are 10 ga that I already have. Question is I would like to plug it into the "rv" plug in my genny. Can I buy an addapter that will go from the rv receptical down to 2 regular 120 plugs? The reason I would liketo do this is so I can run my lights on a higher amp circuit and still leave my regular 120 plugs/circuit to run the battery charger I'm getting. Am I rhinkig about this way too much or does anyone have any imput on this idea? Like I have said before I'm a lighting virgin and am not 100% sure whatxwouls be the safest and easiest way to do this. Thanks in advance!

im going to wire mine into the 240 and split it to two 120 outlets because on my champion the breakers are on the 240
thanks for the info!
Maybe a stupid question but how would you do this? I have heard people doing it but now sure how.

240 has 2 hot wire, you run one hot to one light and the other to another light.
The light is only get 120 volts.
Alright, thanks. Then I'm assuming that the other 2 wires just split and 1 of each goes to each of the 120 outlets?

To answer your question, YES. I found that exact adaptor at a local hardware store. It was about $30. You can Google "Generator Y adapter" and find them on Amazon dot com or other sources too. Good luck.

You could also pick up a cheapo plastic breaker box. I spent less than $15 for the box and 15amp breakers. This way I can run 120 to it or 20 depending on the generator choice. This way you run one cord from the genny to the box and then 4 cords coming out of the box one to each light.

Yeah it's definitely the easiest.Splitting the 240 yourself aint very hard if you do change your mind.
