Hi folks. My 35 HP Vanguard all at once has decided not to turn off when I turn off the ignition. After about 30 seconds of turning off the ignition the engine will finally stop turning. At first I was thinking its the switch. So I swapped switches, the other switch did a little better but still engine does not turn off. And no its not a situation where it is sputtering due to remaining fuel in the carb or anything like that....I don't think...
Here's the strange part; this has never happened until I went to Port St. Joe Fl. and bowfished in the saltwater. About a week later the ignition issue began. Now, the switch that I swapped it out with was also with us during the saltwater bowfishing trip. I have a switch on the push/pull steering. I have another switch that is not wired up that stays on the fan engine. So thats the switch that I swapped it out with. I am guessing that somehow the salt air (??????) maybe had something to do with it. Its just weird that it happened after the saltwater trip. And now here's something even more strange, the generator ALSO did not turn off for about 30 seconds after the trip. But the generator is functioning normally now. It only did this for maybe 3 times.
Any ideas? Do I need to get a brand new switch? Of course I am the ONLY one this has ever happened to. Story of my life! :headbang:
