I just bought a new-to-me Jim Reynolds Ram Horn recurve, and am lovin it! I know Mark Land is a big Trad dude, i see his name on alot of Trad sites.
Hi Nomad, I am a traditionalist by heart. I shoot the Bighorn Ram Hunter Longbow, before that I shot the Black Widow MAII Recurve. Before that I shot a Browning Wasp and before that a Herters recurve bow. I did the compound thing for awhile but started picking up bad habits like target panic. The bowfishing doesn't cause this for me becausse it is a lot of snap shooting and a lot less aiming. Everything is done instinctive so the two work well together for me.

I shoot recurves both for fishing and for hunting. Someday hope to get a long bow. Got way to many bows to shoot now as it is. Sold two compounds a couple weeks ago. May get rid of a couple crossbows next. Got to make room for the 2 vintage crossbows I have coming in this week.

Nice Yote Fish, thats a challenge right there!
yeah it was hahahaha.....especailly an eastern yote.....i educated quite a few before i was actually able to put a cedar arrow in one from the ground. The day i shot that one in the picture i actually missed two others. I was lucky with that one...he actually made the mistake of stopping at 15 yards. Rarely have i ever had one actually "stop" moving.

I hunt strickly traditional...using a Bob Lee Hunter recurve or a custom take-down longbow. However, I use an Oneida Osprey for bowfishing. It feels like a traditional bow but has more kinetic engery. I bet you'll love your new bow. Recurves are great for bowfishing, but with snap shooting you don't get full poundage out of them.
