Anybody have a problem with lifting?

Just wonder if anybody had a problem at speed with the front of their boat lifting? I am curious if a raised platform will cause enough lift to flip a boat. I have a 80hp Merc and my boat will go about 50mph. I have a 5x6 raised platform. Am I just paranoid? Will it affect trailering at 70mph?

yes you are paranoid... let her rip! lol seen many boats with decks run in the 50s ... they did fine.

if you are talking about the aerodynamics of it no. it'll cause more drag than anything just because it's not in a airfoil shape or at a high angle of attack. I believe the reason why most bass boats or small speed boats can only make it to about 70 or whatever it is, is because they are aero limited meaning that they don't have enough power to over come the drag they cause at that speed.

the only time I have had problems with lifting was when we were running into the wind 20-25 mph. Not enough lift to make the boat want to flip but enough to have to have someone sit on the front deck so i could stay on plane. I have a 1648 with a 60x60 deck that is raised 16"
