I called last week & the lady I talked to said that notifications would start to be mailed the middle of July. I wish that they had the capability on their site that would at least allow you to see if you were successful or not after the draw - instead of having to wait for the letter.

Hunters will be notified beginning in July of selection status. After notification, successful applicants are then required to go back online to pay the $100 dollar Alligator Permit fee. The Department will begin to send out permits and tags to fully paid applicants after August 1st . The deadline for paying the $100 permit fee is September 10 (opening day of the season), but you must allow the Department 5 business days to deliver the permit and tag after receipt of payment. Hunters who fail to pay the $100 permit fee by the end of the Alligator Hunting Season will not receive any preference points and will forfeit any accumulated points. The Department reserves therighttoprohibit applicants who fail to pay from participating in future public alligator hunt drawings.

I copied and pasted that off the dnr website

I am going but I am going with a guide who has a 600 acre lake. It's worth it to me to be able to schedule my fall so I know what else i can do. Cant wait to get after them!

Still haven't heard anything

I talked to Ms Patty just the other day. She said they were having a few problems with some of the credit cards not going through. Said they would draw by July 31st and would then "mail" out the notices. I asked if she could send out an e-mail, but she said their computer couldn't send out that many e-mails at one time. Said they would be trashed as spam ???

SO, maybe we'll know something by the 2nd week in August. But the good news is no one has be rejected... yet.
