I'm thinking of having one shipped vs driving to pick it up.

Anyone ever done this?

depending on size ... call a rollback company and have them bring it down!

Maybe a good hotshot driver could pic it up for you?? I see no reason they couldn't....I can't remember the website, but I'll try and find it..... It will show you hotshot drivers delivering to the area who have nothing to bring back....it will give u their number so you can negotiate a price. Its been several years since I've used it though....give me a lil while to find it.

Clarck:
what do they get per loaded mile? I know when we were looking at some used farm equipment the going rate was $3.50 a loaded mile but fuel was cheaper then. some time you could get a brake if you were flexible on delivery time so the driver could find other loads near the same locations.

So If I bought a ******* boat you could get it to me in New Jersey without me driving to pick her up?

Yes sir! It was costing us around 800$ to ship it from Texas to Wisconsin. Around 1000 miles

Find yourself a local kid that's got nothing to do for the summer and you trust with towing it and pay for his gas/meals/hotel fees whatever it takes to get'm out there and back. Then tack on maybe $200 on top of that. It'd be a blast for the kid and you might come out cheaper than having someone ship it. I know me and my buddies used to love road tripping for no real reason back in the day (when I could FILL my Jeep for $35). Just a thought.

No kiddin...that's why I'm trying to talk myself into thinking it's a vacation(takin' the wife and all).Actually the mileage is to Seattle, not Clarkston,(300 miles less)so we would spend a couple days hangin there before we head down to pick up the boat.

20' Phantom Sniper jet boat

Clarkston Washington is one of the most beutiful places on earth, and right on the Snake river river with some unreal sturgeon fishing.I was at a Rodeo at Lewiston Idaho(right across the river) back in the 90's and two old guys were fishing out of a little Jon Boat and got a HUGE sturgeon in the boat, knocked the hell out of both of them, broke ribs, arms, damned near drowned one of em!
Can you shoot those? They said they had some prime waters to test their boats in,so if it's like the Snake River I've seen in videos, then they weren't kiddin'!
