Most of you know I took Taylor on a youth hunt in West Tx and she killed a big aoudad. The ranch we hunted has never book hunters but I told the ranch owner he definately should! He emailed me this morning and said he would book 6 two hunter hunts. 5 days guided, lodging , meals, skinning, etc.
He will book for $3,000 each and only have the two hunters on the ranch at a time. These are free ranging rams in some very rugged country for Texas! Plan on hiking long distances.
At this time, the hunts will be rifle only and the rams will be from the size of Taylors UP! Rememeber this ranch has never offered hunts before and there are some World class rams up there!

PM me if you are interested or call me at 936-222-1098 .Thanks Steve

Still cant figure the pic deal out... guess camochick will have to show me when she gets home!
I hope so, 'cause...:wl:

I had to do that for 2 reasons:
1. We don't have these AOUDAD in Ohio.:jd:
2. I am an instigator from WAY back! :p

That is a good price for a quality Aoudad hunt and especially free range, plus do not let anyone fool you they do make pretty good dinner when smoked on a grill. The backstraps are not too bad tenderized, seasoned and fried lightly.

Here is a free range Aoudad I took a few years back, these babies are not easy to hunt and it is one that you will never forget. Second pic is my wife and her Aoudad taken in South Texas also. Not intended to hijack but to show how beautiful these animals are also.

Another of a ewe I took for the grill.

You must have gotten a bad one. My ewe was some of the best wild meat i have ever eaten. Fried backstrap was better than venisen! Got some headed to the table right now!
Ive tried it a hundred times and the SHEEP taste just wont go away for me! Worked game ranches here and some free range and never had any that were good! Glad you like it!! I cant stomach it at all! lol

I hate to hear that.. wish i had another one..
Maybe its the EWE's that are descent! I have only tried a ton of Rams that guys killed while I was guiding or on the ranches I was on. Never tried a ewe!

My ewe was delicious slow cooked over a smoker, we simply put the entire hind quarters on and coated them with bbq sauce over and over and they were the hit of a cookout for about 28 people in Kentucky. I would love to take another ewe but when I am in Texas they just don't come into the water hole and I am hunting free range with a bow, maybe I need to take a rifle as I see them here and there at a distance.

5150_4_Boar will take an Aoudad over venison or anything else other than Blackbuck Antelope.

Between Sonora and Delrio. Taylors was nice but we definately saw bigger. The ranch has had aoudad since the late 50s and has never been commercially hunted. It has just been family property and they have killed a few. Rugged free range and no kill fee regardless of size. PM me if interested.

There really isnt a history of harvests to compare too. A ram from the size of this one and up would be a reasonable expectation.
