Looks like I will be shooting my compund one more season and I was wondering what you guys were using for rests? I have a biscuit right now...... but it needs replaced before the season kicks up. Any suggestions?

Best rest made right now is the Quick Draw Rest. Machined and anodized aluminum, rapid load and keeps the arrow contained even on swinging shots.

From the looks of your aviator it looks like you shoot a spinner, but I can't see if your using slides. With the lack of a rod, I'd assume your tying to the back. In that case shoot an open style rest. The muzzy fish hook is a nice rest, epoxy are awesome for simplicity, and right now I'm shooting the Pro Rest from F&D archery. Shoots as good as an epoxy, adjustable and holds the arrow really well. You'll get million answers here so its going to come down to what works best for you.

Quick Draw is a good rest but hard arrow on hard rest can't compete with the forgiving nature of the biscuit. Most people don't make a perfect release in the hectic world of bowfishing and the biscuit out shines everything else if you don't get that "perfect release".

I should get a new pic of my bow......... I actually broke that reel the same day I took a picture of it. So, now I shoot a retriever and I have to use slides. The quick draw looks really good, but will I have to worry about the position of my arrow with my slide stopper hitting the rest? Or is the rest made for using slides? Also does anyone know if there are accuracy differences between the QD and the WB? Someone said that they seemed to be more accurate with the biscuit but this could be operator error too!

I really like my biscuit but I can't find the replacement inserts for my model. It is the older style. So I figure I better see whats out there before I settle on one if I am going to spend the $ anyways on a whole new rest.

…lol…let me cook some popcorn...I think you should stick with that whisker B, there aint a dang thing wrong with it, I don’t know how much a replacement biscuit cost but I Know For a Fact its gona be cheaper than a new QD rest… but if you want to keep up with the cool kids do what they do.

You wont have to worry about it anymore than with any other rest out there. If you align your nock so that the slide stop is in line with your string, and nock it with the slide stop up (no different than most other rests), you won't have any issues. I don't personally have experiences with whisker biscuits as I have never liked my arrow to have that much contact with my rest. Also one thing to remember is that no matter how slight the slide stop going through the whiskers it will cause movement in the arrow. Again, it may not amount to much re-direction, but any little deflection matters when you take into account all of the other challenges to shooting a fish, in the water, from a moving platform.

It all amounts to personal preference, and I am not the kind of person to sling low blows against other people by making comments that are unfitting of a discussion.

Slide up would be mandatory, I'm thinking.

I would stick with the biscuit.
This is an example of how good the biscuit is:
Little Killer is R/H and I am L/H but we carry only 1 spare bow tourney fishing- a R/H Discovery. If he has a bow problem-not often- he can shoot the spare bow since that's what he shoots anyways. If I have a bow problem I can shoot the R/H spare bow left handed just as well with the only drawback being having to reach around the bow to reload. Try that with any other bowfishing rest on the market and see how it works for you! Shoot right handed, left handed, upside down or go gangsta and shoot sideways the biscuit don't care. It just does it's job. As I've said before--"If you catch me fishing with anything but a biscuit on my bow, shoot me please".

why not spend a little more up front for the best. you have a bisquit now and are looking for a replacement insert because its not holding up! you wont wear a quik draw out! Like everything in life you get what you pay for. Quick draw for sure!
