I read on another forum about some gent who was pour'n sacks of corn into the water to draw carp for a shoot, I've never heard of bait'n caro with corn, maybe I'm stupid to it but dont seem like carp would be drawn to corn.

Anyone else heard of this or done it ??

Never done it for a tournament but have done it for fishing. Let corn soak in a bucket for a couple of days(it will start to sour) and then spead it out in target area.

Same way I used to bait up a spot in the bottoms when I was planning on taking my daughters fishing. Wheat seemed to work pretty well too. No doubt it works. Doesnt seem all that cool for competition but my guess is it's been done. Karma may let the other team get there first tho...

We do it for spear fishing
But we use cow pellets.... Fill a burlap sack, weight it down and toss it in. The sack will bloat up and sqeeze stuff out and the carp flock to it. We normally toss it in and hang out a while. Buy the time we get our gear on and dive down there are normally fish already on it.
Dont see why it wouldn't work for bowfishing?

Ive baited an area before only to see hmongs line that bank so I wasn't able to fish it so I stick with just chasing em around, bowfishing is expensive as it is n corn is goin through the roof, I get hollered at for a takin a 5 gal bucket full of corn haha

I use corn quite a bit to fish with. Ill take a couple cans of whole kernel corn, pour the contents into a big ziplock with a 1/4 cup of sugar and let it soak for a day. You can also use caro syrup. I will then show up where I want to fish and use a large plastic spoon to chuck a few spoonfulls of corn out. If there are carp in the area they find it quickly. Thread 6-8 kernels onto a hook with a small sliding sinker a foot above the hook and have fun. Its works very well for me anyways. In rivers, you dont even need to chum, just fish with the rig in likely spots.

just a thought, but you guys might want to be carefull about placing any bait this time of year with waterfowl season coming up. A couple of boys here in GA got busted for baiting teal and geese. They got caught because a Game warden checked their boat for life jackets and then he saw corn, etc. It might be hard to explain why you had feed of any kind to mr green jeans.

Maybe for pole fishing but not bowfishing since feeding carp are gonna muddy the water so bad you won't be able to see chit.
