I'm gonna run (2)EU2000's with 6-400's...run seperately (3 per genny, not paralleled) off Lumatek digital ballasts so I can use both HPS and MH bulbs.

I remember reading where some guys were running 8-hpf 150's off 1 EU2000...:cf:

That would be my dream setup! That way you would still have 3 lights to finish a tournament if one generator failed.

I run 8 150's with caps and a DLS45 Iota Converter off of 2 eu2000's. If I don't use the converter I can run all 8 off of one genny...

[8] 150 hpf 150's would use about 1400 watts warm so it is possible. Any digital or magnetic hps ballast will run the same wattage probe start m/h bulb. Neither digital nor magnetic ballasts will run pulse start m/h bulbs without adding a pulsor.

I am running eight 150 watt hps lights on my Honeywell HW2000i. They are high power factor reactor ballasts. They draw 2.1 amps apiece on startup and settle down to 1.8 after a brief warmup.

And my deck is huge.....The front is a bit dim compared to the sides but more than enough light. I can't ever be satisfied though, so I have plans to upgrade the front two to 400w hps lights within the next month. That means another generator which is fine because I will use the new generator for lights and my Honeywell for the converter I will be adding.

I run 8 HPS 150's off one EU2000, have for 3 years without a problem. I fire all 8 lights at the same time. After they warm up they are drawing 12.4 amps, 13.3 being max output for genny.
