Garrett you can hunt them in texas legally. Just like shootin coyotes. They're considered a predator

I did that once. Watched him come running for about 1/4 mile, a big mature male. We were up on a big rock could see him stop at 100 yards and start sneekin in to 50 yards. He figured something wasn't right so was sneeking out. My buddy shot him with a 220 swift he hit a little high and he got away. We went and got a friends german shepard he used to track drags on his trap line. the dog bayed him on an other big rock but we couldn't see them. I put a 22 pistol in my belt and climbed the rock to a ledge about 60 feet up.I walked around the ledge and came around a corner of the rock and there he was 12 feet away with the dog on a ledge above him barking. He looked at me and snarled, boy he had big teeth. I took the pistol out and shot him between the eyes he dropped and came rolling down towards me. Wolf (the dog) jumped for him and they both went off the ledge bouncing a couple times down the rock to the ground. Luckily Wolf was unhurt and the lion was dead. sorry for the hijack
