I put new red potatoes, corn, lemons, garlic and most important bratwurst in the boil. And we us a bag and liquid zatarans along with red pepper, peppercorns and salt. The main thing is after they are done boiling turn the fire of and let them set in the liquid for awhile to absorb the flavor more.
I am no cajun but this is what we do.

The most important part of a crawfish boil is what kinda beer you gonna drink with them?
I am a mirco-brew guy myself so it will probably be an IPA from one of the local breweries but if I don't wanna spend the money on them probably go with the Bud Light.

I just want to know where in the he'll a guy in Michigan gets crawfish!?! the upper Peninsula? I was told them Upers had some good fishing skills...
You know we got a butt load of lakes up here right? Like over 11,000. Most all of them have these mudbug critters the locals (not me or any of my ******* friends) call crayfish. But if you must know I ordered them from a high end food supplier.

Smelt absolutely good chit right there. Lampreys and snail.... negative. We've got the mugbugs, mostly in the clear lakes up in the north part of the state is where I find them. Never trapped them to eat though.

Yes they are, unfortunately we don't get the runs like we use to. I remember going out with my Grand dad and filling up a 55 gallon drum of them suckers. Made for a long day of cleaning!

Well had the boil yesterday. Pretty sure I ate my weight in bugs. Big thanks to all of you who gave your input on this, it worked out great and everything tasted AMAZING!!!!! Purged them in salt water, 3 lemons, 2 red onions, 2 white onions, 2 sacks of ******* taters, 2 bulbs of garlic, 2 lbs of hickory smoked sausage, 15 lbs of bugs. Use Mccormicks carb and shrimp boil seasoning, with a fair amount of sea salt added in. Made of a great way to cure a hang over from my birthday party the night before!

On a side, looks like I've caught the hoopty... I don't wanna be special anyone!!!! :p
