I need help figuring out what will work for me. I want to run 1300 watts of LED lights and my 55lb thrust troller off my Honda eu2000 if it is possible. I planned on running 2 powermax converters into 31 series batteries. One for the troller with a pm3-55 and the converter to the other battery for the lights. Will this work? If so what size should the other converter be? Is there a better way to do this? I also have a champion 3500 if I'm going to run into power issues I just prefer the Honda because of its weight and size. Thanks in adavance.

If you're going to run the LEDs off the genny in the first place, why not just get 120v LEDs?

The boat already had 110v LEDs on it when we bought it. So I would have to change over 1/2 the lights. It will be cheaper to get a converter
If you already have 110v lights then you don't need a converter. Also as far as cheaper is concerned it's a draw in my book. A good 31 series battery (Interstate/Optima) will run you around $250. Plus another $125 for the converter. You can buy a good number of lights for $375.

To answer your original question, I THINK the answer is no. I want to say the PM 55s will draw 1100w, but I could be off there. Call Grahm at Powermax and he can answer any questions you have. They are great to work with. BUT......ditch the 12v lights for some 110v. The power is very inefficient running through a converter and batteries. And congrats on making a post after waiting it out for nearly a year. Welcome aboard!

Either way, 1300w of light and a 55a converter is going to push to hard on a 2k gen
Like he said. I'm not sure were u are getting 1300w of light calculation. If the light says 50w most pull a tad more , like 55w-60w. Same on all the led lights from 30w-150w. So refigure with this in mind.
